History
Background
Thor joined the Avengers and became known for his involvement with the team, meeting Iron Man, Captain America, Hulk, Hawkeye and Black Widow while being a member. He left the team after it was disbanded by Iron Man, whom reasoned that the world functioned fine without the Avengers.
Rejoining
After leaving the Avengers, Thor operated as a solo superhero before receiving the Avengers Protocol and being told by Iron Man that he was needed. Joining up with Hawkeye, Hulk and Iron Man, he was told the news of Captain America's death at the hands of the Red Skull and soon willingly joined Iron Man in his quest to vanquish their enemy.
